Kingston residents upset with city's reduction of swim times at BGC pool

A group of swimmers who are users of the 25-metre pool at the BGC West End Community Centre say they are disappointed with a recent decision by the City of Kingston to cut 17 hours a week from its spring sessions and all summer sessions at the Bath Road facility and are calling on the city to reverse its decision. Weekend Spotlight: Five things to do in Kingston area this weekend

Weekend, various times ranging from start times of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with 20 different walk locations: On the first weekend of May every year, Jane’s Walk, a free festival of volunteer-led walks, takes place in hundreds of cities around the world, including Kingston. These walks encourage people to discover more about their cities and to connect with their neighbours. In Kingston this year, there will be 20 uniquely different walks. They will include various aspects of human life and wildlife, past and present. They will lead participants through green spaces and historic neighbourhoods and a couple will take them to final resting places. Details of the walk times, the leaders and the meeting place can be found online at janeswalkkingston.wordpress.com. The walks are given by volunteers, are free, happen rain or shine and usually take about 60 to 90 minutes.
