The Most Haunted presenter on how Biddy Baxter, the tough children’s show producer, made her look after Bonnie the dog – but in doing so gave her a backbone

Born in Stockport in 1968, Yvette Fielding is a TV presenter and actor. Her career began on children’s comedy drama Seaview, before she was headhunted for Blue Peter, becoming the show’s youngest ever presenter at 18. With husband Karl Beattie, she founded Antix Productions, and created Most Haunted, a paranormal investigations show sold to more than 90 territories globally. An author of YA books and novels, her memoir, Scream Queen, is out now.

This was taken by the wardrobe lady on Seaview. My character, Sandy Shelton, was involved in a demonstration to save the seals on Blackpool beach, which explains the badges and sash. It was a very sunny day and I was having a little breather, looking at the donkeys in the distance. I would have been 13 at the time. With a perm.

Penelope Tree looks back: ‘I like to live a life that doesn’t depend on image or possessions’

The model on London in the 60s, her relationship with David Bailey, and how Buddhism changed her

Born in New York in 1949, model Penelope Tree is the daughter of Conservative MP Ronald Tree and American socialite Marietta Peabody. At 16, Tree was scouted at Truman Capote’s Black and White Ball. Her collaborations with the photographer David Bailey throughout the 1960s cemented her as one of the style icons of the decade. After the end of her relationship with Bailey, Tree moved to LA and then Sydney, where she married and raised her two children. She now lives in Sussex. Still modelling, she also works for the charity Lotus Outreach. Her first novel, Piece of My Heart, is out now.

This was my first sitting with David Bailey. I was 17 and working as a reader for the publisher Rupert Hart-Davis, who gave me two hours off for the shoot. The clothes were fantastic, but meeting Bailey felt seminal.

Born in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, in 1974, Shaun Dooley’s acting career began on soap operas such as Coronation Street and EastEnders. Now a leading actor on film and TV, Shaun has mastered the art of complex characters and had roles in Broadchurch, Doctor Who, It’s a Sin, Black Mirror and as Michael Rudkin in Mr Bates vs the Post Office. He is married with three daughters and a son, Jack, 19, who is a camera trainee and a student at Manchester University. Shaun performs in Jez Butterworth’s The Hills of California at the Harold Pinter theatre until 15 June.
