Florida case regarding classified documents at Mar-a-Lago the only one left against Trump with ongoing proceedings

Donald Trumpโ€™s lawyers are preparing to redirect their focus on the charges that the former president illegally retained classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, moving on after Trump was found guilty of 34 felonies in his New York criminal trial last month.

The documents case now stands with singular importance for Trump, as it is the only case with ongoing proceedings. The other two cases where Trump is a defendant โ€“ the 2020 election interference cases in Washington and Georgia โ€“ are now indefinitely delayed with appeals.

New York probation officers interview Trump prior to his criminal sentencing

Ex-president talks to officials via video call from Florida, with lawyer, in arrangement some called special treatment

Donald Trump was interviewed by New York probation officials on Monday, a required step before his July sentencing in his criminal hush-money case, the Associated Press reported.

Trump, who declined to testify at the trial, appeared for the probation interview by video conference from his residence at the Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, with his lawyer Todd Blanche by his side. The arrangement garnered complaints of special treatment, but city officials contend that is not the case.
