The Trump administration wants to encourage Chinese companies to use Nvidiaβs H200 chip while limiting sales of the companyβs newest chips, known as Blackwell.
Over the last 10 months, President Trump has become close with Jensen Huang, Nvidiaβs chief executive, as the companyβs chips have become a tool in trade and peace talks.
In April, Jensen Huang, chief executive of Nvidia, announced at a White House news conference that Nvidia and its suppliers would invest $500 billion in U.S. manufacturing.
