Manchester Unitedβs first-quarter profits rise to Β£13m but debt reaches Β£1.29bn
Operating profit up after Β£7m loss a year earlier
Unitedβs revolving credit up from Β£35.7m to Β£268m
Manchester Unitedβs operating profit rose to Β£13m in the financial yearβs first quarter, compared with an equivalent Β£7m loss 12 months earlier, and the chief executive, Omar Berrada, said this was down to βthe difficult decisions made in the past yearβ by Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
However, Unitedβs total debt has now risen to a record high of Β£1.29bn. Unitedβs revenue was Β£140.3m, down from Β£143.1m 12 months previously, and the clubβs revolving credit rose Β£35.7m to Β£268m, with noncurrent borrowings remaining at Β£650m.
